Established in 2022 by alumnus Laurence Waring (BA’80, HBA’81) and family because of their strong belief in the importance of education. Laurence’s parents were strong supporters of the transformative power of education. His mother, Elaine Waring served as a Trustee on the Lakehead Public School Board. Both his parents were strong supporters of Lakehead University and the role it played in the Thunder Bay community. Laurence’s four years at Lakehead built a foundation for his life. Not only did it form the basis for rewarding career in investing and public pension plan management but Laurence also met his wife while at Lakehead. It is his hope that your experience at Lakehead University will provide the same foundational opportunity.
