Blake Schweitzer Memorial Award

Established in 2019 in memory of alumnus Blake Schweitzer (FORDP ’77) by his wife Margaret Schweitzer (HBSC ’12, CERT ’12, MES ’14). Blake had a deep and abiding love for the natural world. He explored northwestern Ontario extensively as a young man, and later with his wife and children, in the form of wilderness canoe trips, hiking, and photography. Blake had a lifelong appreciation of the earth’s natural beauty.
Awarded to a full-time honours thesis student attending the Thunder Bay campus who is enrolled in Biology or Geography and the Environment, with high academic standing, and who has identified that their thesis is both practical and related to climate change.
