The Ross Rogers Scholarship in Science

Created in 1998 by Ross Rogers, a long-time resident of Thunder Bay, a Second World War veteran discharged as a major, and educator who had his beginnings as a teacher Upsala, Ontario in 1934, Geraldton, and from the late 40’s as a teacher, guidance counselor, and principal of Gron Morgan High School, retiring in 1973. Awarded to a high-standing entrance undergraduate students entering a Bachelor of Science degree program on the basis of a detailed statement of the applicant’s interest and career plans in science. Preference will be given to high school graduate of the former Port Arthur area and to students from communities east of Thunder Bay, with a minimum of one scholarship awarded to the Geraldton/Longlac area. An equal number of scholarships will be given to deserving male and female students.
