William and Dorothy Hyndman Award
More than 30 years ago, William and Dorothy Hyndman opened their home to welcome a foreign student from Asia with warm “Great White North” hospitality. Starting a relationship that has remained till this day. This foreign student returned to his homeland after completing his studies. He never forgot the kindness and friendship extended to him as a stranger in a foreign land by the Hyndman’s, their son and daughter-in law, Michael and Ruth, and Heather Brown. It is a testament to the Canadian hospitality spirit. The foreign student would like to honor this family through Lakehead University with the scholarship gift in gratitude for the generous love and care extended to him so many years ago. Established in 2013, the William and Dorothy Hyndman Award for a continuing student enrolled in their second, third or fourth year in any degree program, who attained an overall average of B+ (minimum 75%) standing in their previous year.
