Hayes Family Arts and Sciences Scholarship

Created by Drs. Laurie Schultz Hayes and James Todd Hayes for full-time students in the third or fourth year of the HBASc (Interdisciplinary Studies Major) at the Orillia Campus who have achieved an 80+ average. Financial need may also be a consideration. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and must have resided in Ontario for 12 consecutive months prior to receiving this award. Dr. Laurie Schultz Hayes was Lakehead University’s Vice-President (Academic) and Provost when the Orillia campus was proposed and opened. She designed and championed the HBASc as an interdisciplinary major from the start. The Drs. Hayes and their children believe in the value of studying the arts and sciences together and want to support students who share their interdisciplinary commitment.
