K Dieter Eigenbrod Memorial Bursary

K. Dieter Eigenbrod was born in Germany where he received most of his education. He did his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, with Dr. Morgenstern as his supervisor. He very much enjoyed his 22 years of teaching and research at Lakehead, appreciating the beauty of Thunder Bay’s natural environment where he spent his free time skiing, hiking, and canoeing. Dieter’s wife Renate and children Judith and Felix created this endowment to honour his memory. This bursary is awarded to a student in year three or four, Civil Engineering, who demonstrates financial need, with preference given to Aboriginal students.
