Arthur Shewchuk Memorial Bursary

Established in 1977 by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority in honour of Art Shewchuk who was the Authority’s Chairman from 1973 to 1977. The LRCA is a community-based environmental agency that is responsible for the conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the Lakehead watershed. For over six decades the LRCA has been working towards conservation excellence through various programs and initiatives.

Awarded on the basis of need to a deserving student, entering Lakehead University, who permanently resides in one of the participating municipalities of the Conservation Authority, namely: Thunder Bay, Oliver, O’Connor, Neebing, Shuniah, Paipoonge, Conmee, Gillies or Dorion. The student will be entering the field of Biology, Geography, Forestry or Engineering.
