Douglas M. Fisher Law Scholarship

Established in memory of Douglas Mason Fisher, “a boy from the bush”, who was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. A miner, WWII soldier, librarian, forest ranger, Member of Parliament, and political columnist, Douglas taught high school history at Port Arthur Collegiate Institute, now the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. He holds a distinguished place in the history of Canada and its Parliament.
Awarded to a second-year law student who was in the top 10% of the first-year class. Preference will be given to a student originating from Northwestern Ontario. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Law
