Reverend Canon Alvin J. Thomson and Mrs. Violet Thomson Memorial Bursary
Awarded to two full-time, undergraduate students in any year who have completed a course in Religious Studies or intend to do so within the forthcoming year; also based on financial need. Preference given to graduates of a city-of-Thunder Bay high school who are active in a local church or who wish to pursue a career in Church Ministry. Eligible applicants will need a letter from a minister or priest to confirm their interest or calling in ministry. If there is no eligible student from a city-of-Thunder Bay high school, preference will be given to students who graduated from a high school in the district of Thunder Bay.
If there are no eligible students who have completed or intend to take a Religious Studies course or who are not active in a local church, the Bursary will be given to two full-time students enrolled in Social Work or Gerontology; also based on financial need. Preference given to graduates of a city-of-Thunder Bay high school. If there is no eligible student, preference will be given to students who graduated from a high school in the district of Thunder Bay.
