The Sirkka Liisa Mirza Humanitarian Award

Established by Dr. S. Ali Mirza in memory of his wife, the Sirkka Liisa Mirza Humanitarian Award is awarded annually to a student who is enrolled full time in any undergraduate degree program at Lakehead University and who has been actively involved in voluntary humanitarian work/activity (without compensation) that contributed to alleviation of human suffering or betterment of human life at local, national, or international level. The student has also achieved good academic standing (70% average) in their previous year of full time studies at Lakehead University. Any voluntary humanitarian work/activity performed by the student at Lakehead University or elsewhere during their program(s) of studies will be considered.
