Kenneth Hearnden Award in Forestry

Kenneth Hearnden was a Professor in the School of Forestry at LU from 1969 to 1986. He served as Director of the School from 1972 to 1980 and was Dean of Students from 1980 to 1985. Upon his retirement, he donated funds to the School of Forestry and they were placed in an endowment to provide the following two awards.
Returning Student:
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a full-time student entering the fourth year of the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry Degree program who has achieved the highest overall average of the required, non-elective courses in the third year of the program.
Transfer Student:
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a full-time student who has transferred from a forest technology program at another institution. The award will be given to the student with the highest standing in Forest Mensuration courses.
